The Future of our u3a (Local, Regional and National)
Monday 3rd November 2025, 10am to 3pm
St George’s Conference Centre, Great George Street, Leeds LS1 3DL
The aim of this workshop was to look forward and consider how our u3as will/might change in the future and what we can do to meet the challenges ahead and harness positive changes – at all levels; in our own u3as, within YAHR and at the national level.
In addition to local contributors and sharing of ideas we will had contributions from Iain Cassidy, the CEO of the Third Age Trust, and from Alan Freeland (AI Network Leader) who has expertise in the impacts of AI.

DIRECTIONS TO ST GEORGE’S CENTRE.
This is a city-centre location within relatively easy reach of public transport. According to Google Maps, it is about 14 minutes’ walk from the Leeds mainline station to St George’s Centre. (If you walk to the back of Leeds Town Hall – with a VERY large clock tower – and then turn left on Great George Street, pass the old Victorian part of the Infirmary on your right, then pass St George’s church again on your right and the Conference Centre is just behind the church. (If you get to the bridge over the Inner-City Ring Road – you’ve gone too far – turn back!)
As parking is limited (and expensive) in any city centre, it is best to avoid bringing your car. If necessary, you can find parking via Google, perhaps The Light is the nearest.
For travel directions please see: http://www.stgeorgescentreleeds.org.uk/find-us
NB – If you Google ‘St George’s Centre, Leeds – there are TWO of them –check you have the Conference Centre on Great George’s Street, not the NHS one in Middleton.
ACCESSIBILITY – Our meeting room and the toilets are the ground floor and should be fully accessible. If you need permission to use St George’s own (very limited) disabled parking space please send an e-mail, including your car make & model and registration number, to Angie Grain to arrange it for you (events@yahru3a.uk)

You can see Great George Street in the NW of the maps and the Conference Centre is just beyond the edge of the maps.
