Each Network will operate independently and each will have differing aims and activities.
These may include: offering reciprocal membership, organizing joint events and Study Days,
holding Network-wide events and publicizing unusual or under-subscribed groups etc.
Geographical Networks
We currently have four active Networks:
- The East Yorkshire Accord
Beverley, Caves, Cottingham, Hessle, Swanland, Hornsea & District,
AWAKE (Anlaby, Willerby & Kirk Ella), Howden & District, Wolds, Hull - WestNet
Bradford, Cookridge & Horsforth, Ilkley & District, Settle - South Yorkshire
Barnsley, Doncaster, Dronfield, Rotherham, Sheffield - East Coast
Bridlington, Driffield, Filey, Ryedale, Scarborough, Whitby - Central Yorks Group
Garforth, Sherburn, Selby, Tadcaster, Leeds
Subject Networks
Subject-based Networks will be developed through time with the aim of supporting Group Leaders in developing their interest groups, sharing ideas and issues and also making resources available across the region.
Networks
Networks are voluntary groupings of constituent u3as with the aim of providing improved mutual support, resources or activities for their members; they should be natural groupings which arise from within the group concerned.
Types of Network
There are three main types of Network which are being encouraged within the YAHR region:
- Geographical Networks, involving a group of neighbouring u3as
- Subject-based Network
- Role based Networks
